Sorry for the long description, but this girl is special.
After thinking this was Loompa’s Headband and verifying it’s not, I have no idea what the lineage is but it is suggested to be a pheno hunted Loompas Headband. The original Headbands is said to have citrus terps but this has none whatsoever.
Straight from the chorus of Scarborough Fair, parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme….. Add garlic and green onions and this strain reminds me of exactly that. Like my Thanksgiving Turkey Brine. The GREEN in the name is in no relation to the color (main picture used my P Mix for the deep purples), but it is in reference to the smell, green herbal seasoning. This was originally meant to go in my kill pile, because honestly, it’s hard as hell to grow and it’ll have fan leaves self destruct at around week 5 in bloom, hence the name Kamakazi. Once those buds start to stack, you realize it self cannibalizes it's fan leaves and takes all the resources to the buds, even with ppms in the 1000 range. However, the tradeoff is absolutely beautiful buds and her bag appeal is easily a 10/10 and I don't give away points. On top of that, the dank value is off the charts and nothing I have grown to date comes close and this is a classic example of a strain that raises the bar higher. Make sure your neighbors are cool because they’ll know you’re growing for sure, or they might just think you cook stew every night in bloom. This strain will slap you with dank upon opening your tent. This is number 1 in my stable of funky strains and I would have had seeds earlier, but she was hard af to reverse (which means she is less likely to herm from stress, secrets……) Ive grown Chem 4 and Irene in the same tent, which are know funky strains, but this girl dominates which is why I crossed her to both to see if she could add more to that signature OG Kush.
I’m on my 3rd generation of stress testing her out and this also allows me to provide grow tips. Even after responsive feedings with dunks, I have still not managed to get her to harvest with beautiful leaves all around, but I did manage to minimize the ugly. She’s one of the fastest growers and longest stretchers despite being one of the slowest to root. Instead of 800 PPFD, you want to cap out at like 1000 PPFD early in bloom and she will continue to stretch until week 5 and likely tower over all your other plants. When she stops growing vertically is when her largest fan leaves start to commit suicide(pictured). She’s easy to keep the humidity down because of the self destructing leaves, but she likes humidity higher than most strains. Drip is recommended and she prefers higher levels of phosphorous so instead of a 2-3-5 NPK in bloom, I run a 2-4-5. Miss a single feed and she'll go extra ugly on you.
Bud Appearance: Frosty, trichomes on trichomes, medium width but dense nugs. Bottom nugs seem dense. One of the easiest strains to trim.
Smoke Report - Fragrant pungent sour kraut like initially and despite smelling so funky, she has a Slightly oaty sweetness on the exhale. Giggly uplifting high that’s more sativa-ish even though you would think it would be indica based on aroma.
And being the paranoid self I am with the self destructing leaves, I got several tests done to prove that the genetics is clean due to this being the main stud in my dank breeding projects:
