BERRY Red Benihoppe Japanese Strawberry Selfie Seeds

Grow Benihoppe, the famous Japanese “red cheek” strawberry! Developed in Shizuoka, Benihoppe is prized for its deep red color, strong aroma, juicy texture and rich sweet-tart flavor. Each listing includes one fully peeled strawberry skin patch containing at least 100 properly dehydrated seeds that have been stored in perfectly cool and dry temperatures in a clean, controlled environment using HEPA-filtered air to help reduce exposure to dust and airborne contaminants. This is an excellent variety for growers searching for Japanese strawberry seeds, rare red strawberry cultivars and specialty Asian fruit genetics.

These BERRY brand Benihoppe berries are known to be firm, tart, but much sweeter than american varieties. With a viability rate of around 10%, it’s recommended to sow at least 10 seeds per 4-inch container and gently separate the seedlings once they sprout. Colors will vary from yellow, brown and red and will remain on the peel in transit. It does best with high nighttime humidity and thrives with our bloom juice.
 
Seeds show natural genetic variation, but pheno hunts have shown consistency in quality. These have been cold stratified since December 2025, so they are ready to sow upon arrival.
