Nara Strawberry Lab Red Kotoka Selfie Seeds

Grow Kotoka, one of Nara Prefecture’s celebrated premium red strawberries! Kotoka is known for its vivid ruby-red appearance, intense sweetness, concentrated juice, firm texture and rich sweet-tart strawberry flavor. Each listing includes one fully peeled strawberry skin patch containing at least 75 properly dehydrated seeds that have been stored in perfectly cool and dry temperatures in a clean, controlled environment using HEPA-filtered air to help reduce exposure to dust and airborne contaminants. A standout choice for anyone searching for authentic Japanese strawberry seeds, rare Asian strawberry varieties and premium gourmet berry genetics.

These Nara Lab brand is known to have the best quality strawberries in all of Japan and these Kotoka berries are exceptional. They have a sweetness that has yet to be matched and my trip to Japan has verified the consistency in quality. With a viability rate of around 10%, it’s recommended to sow at least 10 seeds per 4-inch container and gently separate the seedlings once they sprout. Colors will vary from yellow, brown and red and will remain on the peel in transit. It does best with high nighttime humidity and thrives with our bloom juice.
 
Seeds show natural genetic variation, but pheno hunts have shown consistency in quality. These have been cold stratified since December 2025, so they are ready to sow upon arrival.
